Shadows & Faces

(photo taken in july 2010 in China)

I met folks who looked at some of my pictures and said... "Hey it's like National Geographic photography" or "Do you work with the National Geographic?"
And there are only 2 or 3 persons on this planet along the last 10 years, who have ever proposed a possible publication of a few photos (actually with some quite different magazine than the "american" National Geographic) but it has never happened.

I should be a really UNinteresting photographer, or just producing outdated images.

Possibly all this was just some kind of false compliments to boost my motivation so I would go around again to take some more (from Belarus to Sudan & else).
As multitude of people, I put quite a lot online, maybe not enough...

Let's say that I lack the real CONNECTION(s). Or can it really be a question of competence ? It may not be the case for some administrative imbroglio.

ALSO: as a graphic designer I once used one the above pictures from this pages of the National Geographic. I transformed it completely into something that didn't look like a photograph anymore & then printed it as a slide to decorate a "musical event". The audience apparently enjoyed or didn't asked for much.

People really like it when it's free, especially idea, reflexion, entertainment or creativity. It doesn't really work like that when I get a coffee around the corner in Beijing, the US or Paris even if there's WiFi
. And they like to have it.
And beside this privileged social moment sometimes, one sip his/her drink out of their own cup, work & chat from their own computer... For free ?
